This project began as a second home for the clients and a place where their grandchildren could run freely. It was designed to the scale of a standard Korean house, about 25 pyeong rather than anything large, and the plan stays close to what a house has to do: when the clients come to rest, as little time as possible goes to upkeep, and the rest they came for is what the house gives. They cared enough about the project to name the house after their grandchildren. Through many rounds of design it took shape step by step, combining roof forms not usually seen in a house, with a pitched roof as the starting motif. The ceiling follows the roof line so the shape reads from inside as well, which makes the interior feel dynamic.
